Know Your Rights as a Sri Lankan Citizen

Constitutional Protection

Article 12(2) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

No citizen shall be discriminated against on the grounds of race, religion, language, caste, sex, political opinion, place of birth or any such grounds.

Section 56(a) of the Police Ordinance (for unruly customers)

It shall be the duty of every police officer— (a) to use his best endeavours and ability to prevent all crimes, offences and public nuisances.
